Scholarship/Grant Recipients
Progress Report as of Dec. 2007

Mayvia Morrison, the Honor Student who graduated from the University of Technology (Utech), Kingston, Jamaica in November 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, is now residing in Canada. Mayvia plans to do graduate studies there soon - continuing with her chosen major in Electronics and Telecommunications. Mayvia is OHFA's First Scholarship Recipient.

Lavinea Smith, our Second Scholarship Recipient, completed her studies at the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica in 2007. She studied in the Department of Natural Science - concentrating on Biochemistry and Zoology, with an aim to move on to the School of Medicine.

Kellesha Morris, who has already graduated from Church Teachers College in Mandeville, Jamaica, is still working with the BARITA Education Foundation in Kingston, Jamaica. As a reading teacher in the making, she executes a program that takes care of grade 5 students who are reading below their grade level. Kellesha, our Third Scholarship Recipient plans to further her studies in the field of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Kayla Beckford is OHFA's Fourth Scholarship Recipient. She graduated from the University of The West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica in November 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science, with a double Minor in International Relations & Social Policy Administration. Kayla now works for the Government of Jamaica as a Committee Clerk in the Houses of Parliament Kingston, Jamaica.

Colvis Thompson is now completing his second year of studies at The University of Technology, (Utech.) Kingston, Jamaica. His Major field of studies is Production & Operations Management with a Minor in Marketing. So far, Colvis is our sole male Scholarship Recipient, and plans to complete his degree at that institution. He is OHFA's Fifth Scholarship Recipient.

Jodian Carnegie the very appreciative student from Longville Park in Clarendon, Jamaica, is approaching the end of her second year at Clarendon College, Chapleton, Jamaica. Interestingly, this prospective teacher is now functioning as a Home Work Tutor for other students around her. This young super active student, who has a vested interest in the Tourism, Drama & Speech Club, still finds time for: Sector "B" Cheerleading activities, Inter Schools Christian Fellowship duties, Peer Counseling at school, and is a very active member in her church.

Kimloy Davis, the fifteen-year-old student of St. Jago High School, Spanish Town, Jamaica, is extremely pleased with the purposeful strides that she has made so far, and the level of success achieved to date. With an ever-pleasant personality, this potential Linguist and Choreographer enjoys working with children. As a lover of Dance and Speech, Kimloy is now a member of St. Jago Girls Speech Choir, and has danced with the school for two years. This young and active Davis has been on Honor Roll since her first term at St Jago High School, and has gained confidence in leading her form for two years. Kimloy is no stranger to awards and recognitions, as she has received numerous certificates, trophies and other prizes, for academic and other outstanding performances to her credit.
